How we Raise our Puppies

Piedmont Pups raises puppies in a safe and loving at-home environment. Through our process, our puppies are ready for an easy transition to their new home. We work to make the take-home process as stress-free as possible for both the puppy and their new family.

Early neurological stimulation

We provide early stimulation from birth until 2 weeks of age to assist in their neurological development.

Sensory Stimulation

From two weeks of age until they go home to their family, we apply sensory stimulation by gently touching their face, ears, tails and feet. This helps prepare them for grooming, teeth brushing, and nail trimming in the future.

Socialization

Your puppy is raised in an at-home environment, and acclimated to other adult dogs and cats at an early age, as well as different people and children.

Tactile Experiences and Play

Our puppy training includes play on uneven surfaces, heights, textures, loud sounds, being brushed, having their nails clipped, and having their ears wiped inside with a damp cloth.

Crate Training

We begin crate and potty training to assist their new family in continuing this program in their own environment.

Health Care

We keep detailed medical records of each puppy, and they visit the veterinarian at 6 weeks of age. Puppies are de-wormed at 2, 4, 6, 8 and 10 weeks of age.

Sleep Schedule

From birth, our puppies are exposed to a regular sleep schedule with normal day/night light cycles.

Feeding

We feed our puppies a high-quality diet, and they are weaned onto a dry food diet at 4 weeks of age.

Environment

Our puppy facility is fully indoors and climate-controlled, with separate sleep and play areas where they can experience different environments. The facility is constantly cleaned and fully protected and monitored 24/7.
